Today I will introduce you to “Homemade Chicken Teriyaki”.
This is a main dish I highly recommend. It is a very popular dish all over the world because it is very flavorful and extremely delicious!!
However, in my opinion in the U.S. the taste (from the sauce) is slightly different from Japanese Teriyaki. In the U.S. the Teriyaki sauce is too sweet by Japanese standards.
I want you to be able to taste “Authentic Teriyaki,” which has a great taste and is not greasy. And also I want to show you how to cook juicy chicken using a pan. The tip is pan-frying and steaming. This makes the chicken soft, juicy and perfectly moist.
The recipe is very easy. It takes less than 20 minutes.
Cook chicken and simmer it with seasonings.

But we get lots of chances to eat her delicious home cooked meals– real Chinese! Fun to find your blog!

Thanks you for the comment!
I know exactly how your daughter-in-law feel. Great for you to have authentic homemade Chinese food!! My mother-in-law always says same thing 🙂
In my blog, I try to make recipes simple because I really want people to cook and eat Japanese dishes. Japanese cooking has many traditions to make the final presentation great, to make the taste better, to make the dish easy to digest… some are important, others are too much. So I am following my mother’s and my grandma’s way “easy, quick and delicious!!” 🙂

Thank you for the nice comment!!
Yes, authentic Japanese recipes have a lot of complicated processes. I am introducing here homemade dishes which have simple processes and I am using ingredients I can get easily at a local market in the US. I hope you like the Japanese taste 🙂
